Thomas Grube
After graduating from college, Thomas Grube directed diverse shorts, reportages and music films including the 1995 documentary “Love Is the Message”. In 1999 he founded Boomtown Media with Uwe Dierks and Andrea Thilo. Together they made “Warschau Express” (nominated for the 2000 Deutscher Fernsehpreis). They followed this with their first feature film “Rhythm is it” (2004) which won the Deutscher Filmpreis and the Bayrischer Filmpreis among other awards. His latest film “Trip to Asia” is currently showing in theaters.

Cosima Lange
The native of Hamburg studied production at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Along with several advertising spots, she has produced the shorts “Insomnium” and “beziehungsweise” among others. Her Diplom thesis film “Vakuum” ran successfully at international film festivals. In 2007, her documentary “Chamamè” for which she was producer, screenwriter and director was released in theaters. Cosima Lange was a partner at fliegende-fische-film until 2008. Today she works almost exclusively on her own directing projects.

Eva Maschke
After training to be a physiotherapist, Eva Maschke studied cinematography at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. In this time, she created episodic shorts, animated films and the documentaries “Vollmondtag”, “Ohne Halt” and “Roaming Around”. She was awarded the Deutscher Kamerapreis for her cinematography in Brigitte Bertele’s documentary “Roaming Around” in 2007. Most recently, she was the director of photography for the documentary “Hijos del Che”.

Volker Meyer-Dabisch
Volker Meyer-Dabisch studied acting in Berlin. After several jobs in Zittau and Schwäbisch Hall he has been underway as “the caveman” since 2003. Along with acting, the native of Kamener also directs. Among others, he has staged “Kohle Kohle” and “36th Street” for the theater. His short feature film “Zwirbels Traum” won several international awards. Volker Meyer-Dabisch was represented with his documentary “love, peace&beatbox” at the 2008 Berlinale.

Astrid Schult
Astrid Schult has been studying directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg since 2003. Her documentary “Zirkus is nich” (2006) won the Best Documentary Film Award at last year’s sehsüchte festival. It tackles the issue of poverty from the perspective of a child. Along with directing, she also stands behind the camera herself as she did for the film “Gysi und ich” (2006/07). She shot her thesis film this year.
