Quirin Berg – Producer and Managing Director

After graduating from high school in 1997, Quirin Berg worked all over in the film and television business and after a brief stint studying American Studies and Political Science transferred to the Film and Television Academy in 1999 to study Production and Media Management. After receiving his Diplom degree in 2003, Berg and Max Wiedemann jointly founded Wiedemann & Berg Filmproduktion. Berg is a member of the German and the European Film Academy. In 2007, his partner Max Wiedemann and he won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film with “The Life of Others”.   Filmography:

Ralph Schwingel – Producer and Managing Director

Born in Neunkirchen in 1955, writer, director and producer Ralph Schwingel has been making films since 1984. In 1989, Lars Becker, Stefan Schubert and he founded WÜSTE Filmproduktion. In 1996, he discovered the just twenty year old Fatih Akin with whom he shot two shorts and Akin’s debut film “Kurz und Schmerzlos”. In 2004, WÜSTE Filmproduktion won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale for its film “Gegen die Wand”. Ralph Schwingel has been teaching “Creative Production” as a guest professor at the Film and Television Academy Konrad Wolf since 2006.   Filmography:

Susann Schimk – Producer and Managing Director

Born in 1971, Susann Schimk studied classical saxophone before attending the Film and Television Academy Konrad Wolf in Potsdam-Babelsberg. She founded credo:film GmbH with Jörg Trentmann in 2001 and credo:verleih GbR in 2005. Since then, credo:film has produced feature and documentary films, many of which have been released in theaters and nearly all of which have won international awards. Susann Schimk has been a member of the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs since 2007.   Filmography:

Linda Krämer (Last year’s winner for her film “Über die Schwelle”)

Born in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1983, Linda Krämer completed numerous internships (e.g. at teamWorx Television & Film GmbH and the Hochschule für Digitale Medienproduktion) and jobbed as a production assistant before she began studying Production at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in 2005. While studying, Krämer worked in 2007 as a location-scout for Cobra Film’s feature film “Tandoori Love” (AT). She expects to graduate with her Diplom degree in 2009.   Filmography:

Manuel Bickenbach (Last year’s winner for his film “Nimmermeer”)

Born in Bonn in 1979, Manuel Bickenbach studied production at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg from 2003 to 2007. In 2006, his brother Bruder Alexander and he founded FRISBEEFILMS. Their productions “Nimmermehr” (2007 Student Oscar), “Berlin–1.Mai” (2008 Perspektive Deutsches Kino) and “Katze im Sack” (2004 First Steps Award) were well received at national and international film and television festivals. Manuel Bickenbach won the Förderpreis Deutscher Film and the sehsüchte Producer’s Award for his film “Nimmermeer”.   Filmography:
