sehsüchte.Song
We created the sehsüchte.song to give this year’s sehsüchte festival another layer and to express the festival motto “Open your eyes! – sehsüchte.08 presents treasures from all over the world.” in yet another way. It is not only intended to put sehsüchte on every tongue but also in every ear.
The song takes up this year’s treasure hunt motif and acoustically communicates what sehsüchte is all about: Discovering films and cultures and their multiplicity and, above all, combining this multiplicity into an exciting, provocative and colorful festival.
The band Vember composed the sehsüchte song “Treasures of This World” and will play it live at the opening event and the awards ceremony.
In the band competition “So Klingt Berlin”, Vember placed among the top eight of 140 bands competing and their song “Wolke über Horizont” (Cloud over the Horizon) was one of 150 songs selected for the soundtrack of the film “Mitfahrgelegenheit” to be released in German theaters in May of 2008.
